One of the most scenic areas in the United States is the Appalachian Mountains east of Birmingham on Lake Martin. Fresh mountain streams feed this beautiful rustic area that was the stage for our photoshoot for Southern Bride Magazine. The location offered their multimillion dollar stables as the backdrop, with the exclusive back country winery on the pristine waters of Lake Martin. Michael Allen Photography and his team captured southern elegance at its best. Lake Martin is one of the most sought after locations for weddings in the region, and the team at Southern Bride designed a beautiful wedding scene to show brides the latest bridal fashions from Vera Wang to Moncheri and wedding design inspirations. Of all the locations that Michael has photographed over the years for the magazine, this rustic mountain wine country inspired shoot is one of his favorites. Of course all of the models were beautiful, and we were excited to photograph Jessie Bullock, the niece of acclaimed actress Sandra Bullock. For this shoot I styled the photography to give a bit more high fashion look using lots of studio flash. Each shoot I do has it’s own unique flavor, and each client that hires me has their own specific styles that they want, for this shoot the editors wanted a high end fashion look to contrast the rustic setting.
